Everything Cadence does
A plan you can actually keep: built the way you want it, recoverable when you miss a week, and shared only as far as you choose.
Making a plan
Two ways to start
Describe it in plain English
Type what you want and Cadence generates the schedule: “Read all four Gospels in 60 days, weekends off”, “Proverbs a chapter a day”, “The whole Bible in a year with Sundays off”. It names the plan for you.
Parallel reading tracks
A generated plan can run up to six tracks at once — an Old Testament reading, a New Testament reading and a Psalm each day, each ticked off separately.
Irregular plans, too
For plans that don’t follow a book straight through — a topical study, a different verse range each day — Cadence can generate an explicit day-by-day schedule instead of an even distribution.
The four-step builder
Prefer to do it yourself? Choose your reading from all 66 books (searchable, with whole-Bible, Old and New Testament shortcuts), set the length from 1 to 365 days, pick your rest weekdays, and preview the first few days before you start.
Edit anything afterwards
A plan isn’t frozen once it starts. You can open the plan editor and change what any individual day holds, down to a verse range.
Run more than one plan
Plans stack. Today shows every reading due across all of them in a single list.
When you fall behind
Three ways back on track
Skip missed days
Mark the missed days as skipped and carry on exactly as scheduled. The plan keeps its shape; you simply don’t read what you missed.
Compress remaining
Fold the missed reading into the days you have left — same end date, a bit more per day. Cadence redistributes the passages for you.
Extend my plan
Push the end date out and keep your normal pace. New reading days are appended after the last one, respecting your rest days.
Reading together
Groups, without the leaderboard
Invite code only
There is no public group directory. A group is reachable only by its invite code, and the group admin can regenerate that code at any time, which immediately invalidates the old one.
Your progress is private by default
Cadence asks whether to share your progress when you create or join a group, and the answer defaults to no. If you leave it off, the group sees your display name and nothing about your reading. You can change it any time.
Everyone gets their own copy
Joining a group copies the shared plan into your own plans. Your schedule and your ticks are yours — and if you leave the group, you keep them.
Discussion tied to the reading
Each group has a thread, and every message is tagged with the day of the plan it belongs to. You can reply to a message and react with 👍, ❤️, 🙏 or 🎉.
Post straight from the reader
Reading a group plan, there’s a button at the end of the passage to share a thought with the group without leaving the page.
Clear admin controls
The person who created a group can remove members, regenerate the invite code and delete the group. Everyone else gets a plain “leave group”.
Reading
A reader built for actually reading
Five translations
ESV, CSB, and the public-domain WEB (World English Bible), ASV (1901) and KJV. Each translation’s attribution is shown at the end of the passage.
Scroll or page
Read as one continuous scroll, or as discrete pages with a page counter, whichever suits you.
Type sized for your eyes
Four text sizes and three faces: your system font, Lora for a serif, or Atkinson Hyperlegible — a typeface designed specifically for low-vision legibility.
Marks itself off when you finish
The “done” button appears once you’ve actually reached the end of the reading, and moves you straight on to your next one if you have another due.
Light and dark
The whole app follows your device’s appearance setting, so night reading doesn’t mean a white page.
Staying with it
Progress, streaks and reminders
One Today list
Everything due today across every plan and every track, with a one-tap “mark done” and an “undo” if you tap it by mistake.
Streaks that understand rest days
Your streak counts consecutive days you read anything, across all plans at once. A scheduled rest day doesn’t break it, and neither does a day with nothing due.
Per-plan statistics
Current streak, longest streak, percentage complete and days remaining, for each plan and each group plan.
The whole schedule, day by day
Expand any plan to see every day laid out with its passages, marked done, missed, rest or upcoming.
A daily reminder
Turn on a reminder and pick the time. Cadence sends you a local notification at that time each day.
Your timezone, your “today”
Cadence syncs your device timezone, so the day rolls over when it does for you — not when it does on a server somewhere else.
Your account
Sign-in and control
No password
Sign in with your email address and Cadence sends you a secure sign-in link. There’s nothing to remember and nothing to leak.
Delete your account, properly
Deleting your account removes your plans, everything you’ve marked done, your group memberships, your messages and your reactions. The app tells you plainly what will go before you confirm — including that groups you created are deleted for everyone in them.
Not released yet
Cadence is still in development. Everything described on this page is built, but the app isn’t on the stores yet.
